Christmas Jeremy and Thoughts on the Year Past
It's that time of year again, Christmas, my favorite holiday. May Becca and I wish you a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
To paraphrase one of my favorite Christmas songs, Blues Traveler's Christmas:
"Be it Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, Solstice harvest, or just December twenty-fifth, peace on earth to everyone and abundance to everyone you're with."
So I didn't end up writing in this blog nearly as much as I had originally intended this year. I managed to keep up to date on my trip to Vietnam, but I took 3 other small vacations this year (Metropolis, IL for Superman Days, California for Disneyland and Orlando for Walt Disney World) that I never even covered. Not to mention the camping trips and other weekend excursions. Rock Island alone was an amazing experience I could have written quite a lot about.
The trip to Vietnam really ignited a travel bug in me and we're already planning other trips through this next year. I want to see more and share more.
I took over 13k photos this year, and I've only posted a fraction of them. There are a fair amount that I never even bothered to fully edit.
I want that to change this next year. I'm not usually one for resolutions, but I'm going to try and post here more often. To help with that I'm going to bring back my 52 project. I'll be back to a photo a week, no matter what. So at the very least you'll get that. I hope it'll force me to stay current with things like this and show off more of what I've been up to.
Tomorrow morning Becca and I are headed on a final vacation of the year, a trip to New Orleans via Memphis. I hope to write up something about the week as a first post of next year, something to keep me honest.
For now, here's a few of my favorite photos from the year. Some have made it on here before, but a few haven't.
2016 had a lot of issues, but there were a lot of truly great parts to it as well. Let's just hope 2017 smooths out those rough patches.
